Young Philanthropist Program

IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes' Young Philanthropists Program is all about recognizing the young anti-hunger advocates in our community.

Whether you give time, dollars, or food to support Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes' programs, we want to commend you for your hard work and dedication to the cause of relieving hunger in Kalamazoo County.

To become recognized as an official Young Philanthropist, contact Erin Lowe, Development & Communications Coordinator, at 269.488.2617 ext. 206 or email Erin.

Creative Ideas For Young Philanthropists

There are many ways for local, community-minded youngsters to make a difference:

  • Collect loose change for a month or even a year and donate it to our emergency feeding programs.

  • Instead of asking for gifts at your next birthday party, encourage guests to bring food items to donate to our pantries.

  • Donate the proceeds from your next family garage sale or lemonade stand to our organization.

  • Tend a community garden plot and donate produce to our food pantry.

  • Get your class involved - ask your teacher about incorporating hunger awareness into your learning.

  • Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes can even come speak to your class about what we can all do to help end hunger.
