This position requires some lifting up to 30 lbs., climbing stairs, & sitting in a car for extended periods of time. We offer home deliveries Monday-Friday. If you're a people person with a knack for data, we have the perfect position for you! Our call center volunteers are responsible for answering incoming calls, providing information about our programs and services, and scheduling appointments for clients.

Ideally, we would like our volunteers to be comfortable with technology as we work on a custom appointment scheduling software with built-in client management features. Douglass Pantry Assistant

The Douglass Pantry, located at the Douglass Community Center on the North side of Kalamazoo, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to individuals and families in need. Currently, our Douglass Pantry is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; but we are looking to open on Mondays starting in late 2023 or early 2024.

In order to make this happen, we need dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as volunteer Pantry Assistants to help us extend our services and support our community! As a volunteer, you will be asked to stock shelves, provide information about our services, answer questions, offer guidance for clients that are shopping, and create a welcoming space for our guests. We ask that anyone interested in the position to be able to make a 3 + month commitment and be available on a weekly basis.
