Food Assistance Outreach

Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes is taking part in the Food Assistance Outreach Program – a pilot outreach venture with the Food Bank Council of Michigan and the Department of Human Services. This initiative is focused on assisting Kalamazoo residents in signing up to receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.

KLF staff and volunteers are present at some Mobile Food Initiative sites, as well as other locations around the area, and assist interested households through the online process of registering for SNAP benefits. Volunteers are able to assist you at our office at 901 Portage St. every Wednesday from 10 am – 1 pm.

If you have questions about this program, or would like to receive assistance in signing up for benefits, please call 269-366-7236. To start your own online application for SNAP or to find out if you’re eligible to receive benefits, click here.
